1. Pillar:
Networking – specifically meeting new people and initiating meaningful conversations through a coffee chat.
2. What I did:
I met Kevin Chang from Berkeley Ventures at a networking mixer and asked if he’d be open to a coffee chat. Before meeting, I did background research on his work so I could ask informed questions and connect on shared interests.
3. Reflection:
The process went well! It pushed me to be intentional about how I approach people and build rapport. I learned a lot about the VC field that I didn’t know before, and it made me more confident about starting conversations with new people.
