2. Bad Pitch (Originally intended to be a video dating site)
“Welcome to YouTube … the future of dating! Forget about typing bios because now you can record yourself saying who you are and who you’re looking for. Upload your video, browse others, and maybe meet your perfect match through the power of video introductions. Our revenue will come from ads and premium matchmaking tools. It’s online dating find your love at first click”

3. Pivot Pitch (New idea, open video platform)
“Imagine a website where anyone can upload any video and instantly share it with the world. It could be from music performances, to tutorials, to comedy, news, or personal stories. That’s YouTube. Viewers watch for free, creators earn from ads, and advertisers reach global audiences. We’re the global stage for creativity, learning, and connection.”

4. Reflection
YouTube’s pivot shows how expanding a narrow idea to target a broader audience can create massive impact. It reminds me that an important part of innovation is to recognize market potentials and adapting quickly.
