Weekly Challenge #2: Pay it Forward _ Bailey Paquette

In one of my classes, I have made friends with a girl who always shares really good ideas when we are in a group setting, but never wants to share them to the class for fear they aren’t going to be valuable against what others would say. I decided to ask her to help share her ideas on her behalf, giving her credit for her amazing ideas. She agreed, and her voice was heard by the entire class, as well as the TA, who complimented her unique ideas. She thanked me and said she was encouraged to raise her hand more.
I want to be the kind of innovator and leader who encourages others, and creates a space where everyone feels welcomed to share their ideas. The best ideas aren’t always going to be the loudest ones, or the most popular. Hearing what everyone has to think is how leaders can help drive diversity of thought, expression, and new ideas.
