During my interviews, people consistently emphasized that safely and responsibly constructing AI requires transparency in model development, strong regulatory frameworks, and diverse teams who can identify ethical blind spots. Several peers and faculty also mentioned the importance of human oversight ensuring AI augments decision-making rather than replacing critical judgment.
They shared that AI has already reshaped their fields through automation, faster data analysis, and new tools for research, communication, and productivity. Looking ahead, most predicted even broader transformation: in five years, more personalized AI assistants; in ten years, major shifts in how companies operate and hire; and in twenty years, potentially entire industries rebuilt around AI-native workflows.
