Founder Mindset with Get the Check _ Qurratul Ain Sanjida

1. Of the three topics, recruiting resonated with me most. I liked the idea that startup recruiting is less about having a perfect application and more about proof of work, curiosity, ownership, and actually showing up where founders are. The video connected that to Berkeley’s “scrappy DNA,” community, and building something you genuinely care about. I also loved their perspective as women building with friends and creating a voice they felt was missing in the tech podcast space.

2. It reminded me of my own founder experiences. With FindYourPathAI, we interviewed 127+ students and kept iterating based on what we learned. With Kinetic, we became runner-up in SCET’s Superintelligence Ventures, gained early interest from a neuro-rehab clinic, and later had to rethink our original hardware direction. Both taught me that building is rarely linear. I want to apply the same mindset to recruiting by showing what I have built, reaching out directly, and choosing collaborators whose strengths complement mine.

3. I would love an episode about what happens after the first exciting stage of a startup, especially for women leaving Berkeley or SCET. How do you know when to pivot, keep building, join another startup, move into product or technical roles, or eventually become an angel investor? I’d especially love to hear from a woman who has moved between technical work, founding, product, and investing, because those paths are much less linear than they look from the outside.
