1. What’s one new insight you walked away with after exploring this content?
One new insight I learned is that if I want to recruit for startups I should focus less on what I have learned in most other recruiting events. Normally they tell you to practice your STAR responses and be very polished so it was interesting to find out that for startup recruiting I should focus more on showing proof of work. This is something new I will definitely take into my recruiting for startups if I choose to do so.
2. How could you apply something you learned from this challenge to your school, career, or daily life?
One thing I learned simply from watching the video at the beginning was that if I have a dream or an idea or something I want to do I should go after it. I think hearing about these girls story of wanting to start something with each other is something I can see myself doing with my friends. So, it made me that much more motivated and inspired to do that one day. In my daily life I think I can also begin to implement a lens of looking out for the next idea or thing that is going to help me get started.
3. Is there a topic, question, or person you’d love to see covered on a future Get the Check episode?
I would love to see a woman founder who once had a startup that is now turned into a real full-fledged company. For example, Maureen Kelly the CEO of tarte was once a founder of a small startup makeup company that has now turned global. It would be very interesting to see how she now approaches her business versus how she used to.
