I am a law student and I attended an electrical engineering class about Engineering Responsible Systems. I chose this class because I wanted to listen to the guest speaker — Isabel Hahn, the EU delegate to SF for AI policy. She has a similar background as me, having studied law, and is now working in the international AI policy space. This is a niche intersection I hope to pursue in the future. I liked the way she spoke about the EU AI Act, which she had had a hand in creating — with both pride and appreciation but also critique for how it could continue to be improved.
