1. What is your major, which class did you attend, and why?
My major is Statistics, and I attended Philosophy 12A which my friend was in, Introduction to Logic. I chose this class because I wanted to explore how we evaluate arguments and determine whether conclusions follow from their assumptions. That connects closely to my interest in drawing sound conclusions from data.
2. My biggest takeaway was the importance of making assumptions explicit and checking each step of an argument. In statistics, conclusions depend on both the data and the assumptions behind our methods.
