At the Computational Biology Pitchathon, one startup that stood out to me was a team developing an AI-powered platform for accelerating drug discovery by predicting protein–ligand interactions with much higher accuracy. Their pitch explained how traditional wet-lab testing is slow and expensive, and how their computational models can drastically reduce time-to-discovery for new therapeutics. It was exciting to see how AI and biology are merging to create tools that could transform the pace of innovation in biotech.
