I attended HUM 10. I chose this class because of my love for writing and because I wanted to understand how AI is changing the way we write and read stories. During the class, we discussed the strange metaphors and descriptions AI often uses and whether AI-generated stories actually have strong plots. What I discovered went beyond AI itself. The discussion made me realize how much our own reading habits have changed. When a story relies on description and requires us to visualize and interpret what is happening instead of stating everything directly, we tend to skim because we have become accustomed to getting information immediately. I also gained new insights into my own reading process and how patience and interpretation shape the way I experience writing.
