I attended MFE 230m, asset backed security markets. My background is in computer engineering and I haven’t really explored different areas outside computer engineering, so taking an interest in financial engineering. It was interesting that securitization is being used for everything. The class is saying you can separate mortgages and leases by type and sell them into tranches. Classically this is for real estate, but Klarna, and all the AI Data centers are using it for heavy equipment leases also. So i’m curious, what else can that be used for.
